185 Year Anniversary

On September 17, you are invited to First Congregational Church, 741 E. High Street, Milton, at 10:00 am as we celebrate 185 years of faithful service to our community. The church was founded on August 16, 1838, when nine people met at the log home of Ansel Dickinson, located a quarter of a mile north of the Mt. Zion cemetery, and decided to organize a Protestant Church. This was the third Congregational Church in Wisconsin Territory and the first Evangelical church in Rock County. The present building was erected in 1892, dedicated in 1893 and is still used today. The church has grown from its original membership of 9 to a present membership of about 125. We offer a traditional service of worship. Come join us as we celebrate our past.
